Amos Lee

Amos Lee

Some info:
Not bad for a former schoolteacher. In fact it is actually pretty good. Making a name for himself in his hometown of Philadelphia, Amos Lee soon became the talk-of-the-town and signed a record deal shortly after leaving a teaching career behind him in order to follow a path more musically orientated. Opening for such greats as Bob Dylan, BB King, and Mose Allison says it all.

The music itself is unique in that it finds its inspiration from American folk and soul genres yet meanders along a course that is interesting in that its hard to place it into any one category. The easiest comparison for this new artist could possibly be such other well knowns as Tracy Chapman and (a slightly toned down version of) Ben Harper. So if that’s your bag you’ll definitely find this album (hmmm… how shall I put it) soothing…

Music Type: Folk/soul
