Billy Corgan: The Future Embrace

Smashing Pumpkins fans of the world can rejoice. No, the band is not back together but their former lead singer, Billy Corgan, has released his first solo album. His unmistakable melancholic voice is extremely recognizable throughout the album and although it may not be quite the same as the Pumpkins, their are definitely some interesting surprises locked away in this album. One of the songs that stick out the most is probably “To Love Somebody” originally sung by the Bee Gees, except a little more upbeat and a lot less depressing.

Yet melancholia aside, this album has a similar sound to that of the Pumpkins and may just sit quite comfortably on the CD rack next to all their previous albums.
