Feature Article - A tribute to the Jackson Five |
| MONDAYS to SATURDAYS 01st to 15th NOVEMBER 2008
CAN YOU FEEL IT, a high-energy packed tribute show to the Jackson Five, runs at On Broadway from Saturday 01st until Saturday 15th November 2008.
The show recently returned from Spain's Palma de Mallorca where sell-out performances and top billings were enjoyed by thousands of European holiday makers and fun seekers, and where the show has been performing for the past four Mediterranean summer seasons.
Reyaat Tasriet leads the cast as a younger and prettier version of Michael Jackson and he is supported by Cheslen Junior, Lorenza Swartz, John Floris and Edward Eden. CAN YOU FEEL IT has been described as 'brilliant harmony group with a true-to-life resemblance to the Jacksons, complete with Jackson choreography, costumes and afros". The show includes popular hits such as Ben, Heal the world, ABC, Thriller, Black or White, and of course Can you feel it.

The Jackson Five, later known as The Jacksons, was a popular American music quintet (and briefly a sextet and quartet) from Gary, Indiana. The group, that first formed in 1966 and enjoyed success until 1990, consister of brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael. They played a repertoire of R&B, soul, funk, and later disco and were one of the biggest pop-music phenomena of the 1970s. The band served as the launching pad for the solo careers of their lead singers Jermaine and Michael, as well as their sister Janet.
They were the first group to have their first four major label singles (I Want You Back, ABC, The Love You Save, and I'll be there) reach the top of the American charts. Several later singles, among them Mama's Pearl, Never Can Say Goodbye and Dancing Machine, were Top 5 pop hits and number-one hits on the R&B singles chart. The Jackson Five were the first black teen idols to appeal equally to white audiences.
Tickets cost R75.00 each. |
