Following the outstanding response from approximately 5 000 visitors to the second Rocking the Daisies music festival in 2007, this year promises even more. Taking place at Cloof Wine Estate near Darling, there will be great food and entertainment and also a really important message: play hard, tread lightly.
Presented by Windhoek Draught this year, Rocking the Daisies is South Africa’s premier eco-friendly event - using only the most environmentally friendly products and practices, offsetting their carbon footprint by planting trees, using hemp tickets and providing biodegradable soaps, shampoos and conditioners free of charge for those who stay over. Incentives for cars carrying more than three passengers, as well as an official Rocking the Daisies cycling initiative will be launched this year, to further contribute to reducing the festival’s carbon footprint.
Come along and enjoy a jam-packed line-up featuring 24 proudly South African bands, two international acts for the first time this year, 22 DJs and a selection of eight top local comedy acts, provided by the Comedy Revolution.
