There is no mistaking Paul Simon and Surprise is a testament to this lifetime of singing and song-writing – his fans are in for a treat. This collection of 12 tracks adds to Paul’s legacy of poetic imagery and his trademark reminiscence. But its not all melancholy and African strings…. My personal favourite is ‘Sure don’t feel like love’ which seems to resonate and does stand out in this collection of Paul Simon being Paul Simon. I loved the haunting melody and would have loved more surprises like that.
