Where do I start? This album truly is The Flaming Lips personal expression of an existential existence, complete with spacial overtones and ambient flavour….. It must be listened to in full to be properly appreciated. Lots of melody, melancholy and mood all weave magically together to create 12 powerful tracks all, by some musical miracle, relevant to their personal ‘war with the mystics’ Rock, pop, electro and retro funk pave the way for this uniquely diverse and empowering personal expression. No one genre’ truly encapsulates all that has to be said on this their statement album. 10 points for originality and spunk and 100% purist – question everything.
