The restored Manor House (a national monument since 1800) is haunted by a beautiful dark haired woman, wearing a long dress with a deep lace neckline. This is said to be the ghost of Elsa Cloete, who feel in love with a British soldier in 1840. But their love was doomed because she was Dutch and eventually hanged herself from an oak tree. The ghost is friendly but moves objects around the house.
